Would you mind protecting the Center page? A non-registered user is making changes to it. They didn't change a lot, but they still deleting existing data in the "group center" section and changed it to something else.
Something odd happened to some of the NMB profile pictures I posted... They somehow changed from the size that I uploaded them in, and became smaller. For whatever reason, they still seem to be the right size when I look at them in full size. Do you think I should try re-uploading them?
I've checked the images. They're fine here. It's only a computer communication error. If it doesn't seem normal on your browser, try a different one (e.g. If you use Google Chrome, try checking in Mozilla Firefox) to see if it's still broken. ^_^
I went to check in Wikia Community Central for news. Apparently, you're (or rather we're) not the only one who is/are affected by that glitch. If changing browsers doesn't fix it, it's because almost all large-scale wikias have the same problem (although, mine's really fine I tell you). Here's the link to the discussion in Community Central: click here.
Thanks for looking into this. I'm kind of glad that I'm not the only one (and this isn't the only wiki) that's had a similar problem. Some of the pictures seem have gone back to normal, but others are still distorted. Hopefully this problem will be fixed in a little while...
Oh! And I think older generation wikis are the only one affected. I didn't see the bug affecting Dark'sAKB48 Game Wiki and my AKB48 Detective Wiki... Either because they're only recently built, or because they're small-community wikis... (my opinion only, I'll check in Community, just in case)
Eh! I don't know anymore... I'm currently using Chrome (Incognito), but AKB48 Game looked fine. Well, it's not new to me... last time it happened, it returned to normal after 1 month. In any case, I think the guys who discussed the issue in Community Central would have filed a report by now... and just to be sure, I filed one myself and added a list of the ones I thought were affected.
The Majisuka wiki was definitely affected. If this actually is something more likely to happen to large-scale wiki communities that contain a lot of pictures, then our wiki is in trouble. I'm currently using Firefox, and I still see a lot of pictures that have been affected. I wonder if we are all seeing errors with the same pictures... It seems to me that the pictures with errors keep changing. When I was on yesterday, Reinyan's profile pic was distorted. This morning it looked normal again to me, but there were new pictures that had errors.
I hope it won't take a whole month for things to go back to normal. :(
It looks about the same to me. In fact, I think some of the photos that you're seeing as having errors are the same ones I'm seeing. To me the with photos with errors keep changing... The profile picture on the Yamauchi Tsubasa page went out of focus just after I posted it. When I reposted it a little while ago, it seemed fine. But right now, I'm seeing that it's blurry again.
Ah! I encountered that one! In KR Wiki, there were (and I meant it as past tense, really) images named "1.jpg" or "untitled.png" and they always have that one saying "Appears on these wikis". Also when you start your own wiki, the default images given to you will also show these (e.g. File:Placeholder person.png which is available in every wikia). But images which only appears on one or two wikis won't show that tagging system, like Detective48's File:AKB48SatsujinJiken AigasaMoe 2012.jpg and this wiki's File:AKB48SatsujinJiken AigasaMoe 2012.jpg (now I'm just being redundant like Mariko).
It seems the issue with the pictures has been solved. I haven't seen any errors like this for a few weeks now. I'm glad that the wiki is working right again, and most of the new profile pictures have been posted. :)
I've been wondering why AkiP and her fans call her a Ponkotsu. Moreover, I don't really understand what a ponkotsu is. I tried looking it up, but the only definition I found was "piece of junk". Is this what they call her, or does ponkotsu mean somethine else? She's such a nice girl, why would she be junk?! >.<
Paru's not the only one called "ponkotsu" actually. HKT48 Team H's Cap, Anai Chihiro is often called "ponkotsu captain". In a "direct-to-english" translation, it might sound like what you have found. But the reason they are called "ponkotsu" by the fans is because they (the fans) seemed like they (Chihiro and Paru) often make unexpected mistakes (in a shorter term: making a blunder). One example is Chihiro's guitar performance in HaKaTa Hyakkaten, where she always fail at an unexpected moment. Paru's salty reaction is often the source of her being called ponkotsu, because the fans expect an energetic reaction, but due to Paru's personality (often looks like she's suppressing herself, or reserved), she gives-off a "cold" expression.
Ah I see. I actually did watch that SHUKAN AKB episode, and the conclusion I came to was that a ponkotsu (at least in terms of Paruru) is somewhat of a person who lacks a responsive personality, which she seems to be. Kind of like how Yukirin is famous for her big reactions, while Paruru would just blink or give a curious look. Thanks for helping clear that up for me.
Go ahead. ^_^ I'm double checking the members right now so I might not have some time to modify it. I'm also checking each singles pages if I missed some of them, or if there're misspelled names. Thanks again.
I borrowed the effects from another wikia, then arranged them in a table format (6x2 table). Then I used < div style='position:fixed;top:0;left:0;padding:0' > to make the effect stay put/fixed in the same position (even when scrolling up or down). ^_^
Oh! About that, no member has a birthday on that date, so I kinda auto-connect it to the previous one. I kinda have done that on almost all days with no members/staff birthday, although I still don't know some of the staff's birth dates. Sorry, I'll try to mend it.
