NGT48 (short for Niigata48) is an all-female Japanese idol group and the 4th domestic sister group of AKB48. The group has their own theater in Lovela 2 building in Niigata. The 1st Generation members were announced on July 25, 2015. The group led by Fujisaki Miyu as the captain since April 1, 2022.

History
- On January 25, AKB48 announced the creation of a new sister group at Request Hour 2015 - Evening Performances. This new group will be based in Niigata Prefecture. Also, the theater will be opened on October 1st.
- Imamura Etsuro, whose currently managed the SKE48 Theater, will be a new representative of the upcoming theater in Niigata. He will now replace by Yuasa Hiroshi as a new SKE48 Theater Manager.
- On March 26, during the AKB48 Spring Team Shuffle 2015 happened in Saitama Super Arena, Kitahara Rie will finally transferred to NGT48 and become the first Captain of the group.
- On the other hand, Kashiwagi Yuki will hold/transfer her Kennin Position on the said group from NMB48's Team N
- On April 10, the group held their 1st Generation Auditions. Eligible members between the ages of 11 to 23 are applicable to apply
- On May 10, AKB48 introduced the 2nd Generation Draft Members since March 1, 2015. Two members were drafted into this group.
- 2nd Generation Draftee: Ogino Yuka, Nishigata Marina
- They were formerly a members of Baito AKB before being shifted to 2nd Generation Draft Members

- On May 18, the group ended their 1st Generation Auditions
- On May 19, AKB48 opened their voting lines for the incoming 7th Senbatsu Election. Fans can now officially vote for their favorite members to be included in final Top 64 members.
- While the voting line opened in public, Kitahara Rie was still enlisted as Team K member the day she submitted her application for 7th Senbatsu Election, two days after the AKB48 Spring Team Shuffle 2015 happened.
- On July 20, the group debuts the 1st Generation Members, forming 22 original members, along with the two 2nd Generation Draft Members, Kitahara Rie, and Kashiwagi Yuki
- On October 1, the group opened their theater in Lovela 2 Commercial Building
- On November 18, the group announced their collaboration with McDonald's, and they will sold Chicken McNuggets (NuGgeTs) 48 pieces for a limited time at all 38 McDonald's stores in Niigata prefecture starting from December 1st.
- The collaboration, which also plays on the group's name, has come to fruition. Special boxes and special cards printed with NGT48 members will be included.
- On the release day, it was also decided that events where all NGT48 Members will directly sell at 5 stores in the said prefecture where the event held.
- Kitahara Rie appointed her as the team Captain of the first team, aside from being a captain of the whole group.
- In addition, the group started their Team NIII 1st Stage entitled PARTY ga Hajimaru yo. It's a revival from AKB48's Team A 1st Stage
- On February 21, the group released the short version of AKB48's 43rd Single coupling MV Max Toki 315-go on their official YouTube Channel. This is also their first original song to be included in AKB48 Singles.
- The full version of the video will be available on AKB48's upcoming 43rd Single DVD release
- On March 9, AKB48 released their FULL 43rd Single in physical and online streaming devices, including the group's first original song Max Toki 315-go.
- On May 15, the group ended their Team NIII 1st Stage.
- On May 28, the group started their Team NIII 2nd Stage entitled Pajama Drive. It's a revival from AKB48's Team B 3rd Stage
- On June 1, AKB48 released their FULL 44th Single in physical and online streaming devices, including the group's 2nd original song Kimi wa Doko ni Iru?
- On August 29, the group started the Kenkyuusei 1st Stage entitled Natsu no Nijikai PARTY (夏の二次会PARTY). It is a modified revival stage from AKB48's Team A 1st Stage.
- On October 13, the group started the Kenkyuusei 2nd Stage entitled PARTY ga Hajimaru yo ・ Galveston Dori (PARTYが始まるよ・ガルベストン通り). It is a continuation of a modified revival stage from Kenkyuusei 1st Stage
- The full version of the video will be available on AKB48's upcoming 47th Single's DVD release
- On March 15, AKB48 released their Full 47th Single in physical and online streaming devices, including the group's third original song Midori to Mori no Undokouen.
- On March 17, the group released their debut single MV Seishun Dokei on their YouTube Channel.
- On March 24, the group released their debut single coupling MV Kurayami Motomu on their YouTube Channel.

- On March 31, Mizusawa Ayaka graduated from the group as 1st Generation Kenkyuusei
- On April 4, the group released another debut single coupling MV Shutsujin on their official YouTube Channel.
- The full version of the video would be available on their upcoming debut single's DVD release
- On April 12, the group released their full debut single in physical versions. The online streaming version was released as Special Edition of the single.
- On July 2, the group started their Team NIII 3rd Stage entitled Hokori no Oka (誇りの丘). The stage is a revival from AKB48's Team Surprise 4th Stage
- The stage has an "almost original" setlist because it had never been performed on stage before. The 45-second clips of each song are available on AKB48 Official YouTube Channel with the original members but have never been released otherwise.
- The stage songs Anata no Kawari wa Inai, Las Vegas de Kekkon Shiyou, Gesuna Yume, and Kimi no News are the songs was first heard at Team Surprise 3rd Stage and it was included on Hokori no Oka Stage.

- On October 31, Otaki Yuria graduated from the group as 1st Generation Kenkyuusei
- On November 12, the group started the Kenkyuusei 3rd Stage. It is a continuation of a modified revival stage from Kenkyuusei 2nd Stage
- On November 17, the group released the short version of the 2nd Single Coupling MV Otona ni Naru Mae ni on their official YouTube Channel.
- The full version of the video would be available in their upcoming 2nd Single's DVD release
- On December 6, the group released their 2nd single Sekai wa Doko Made Aozora na no ka? in physical edition. The online streaming version was released as Special Edition of the single.
- On December 13, the group released the Type-A Edition to Theater Edition of their debut single on their online streaming devices. It was delayed for 8 months due to the early release of their Special Edition of the single.
- On January 21, AKB48 announced their 3rd Generation Draft Members at the Tokyo Dome City Hall. Five (5) members were drafted into this group.
- On April 10, the group released the Type-A Edition to Theater Edition of their 2nd Single on their online streaming devices. It was delay for 4 months due to the early release of their Special Edition of the single.
- On April 13, 5 days before Kitahara Rie graduate from the group, a team shuffle happened in Tandoku Concert as Team G formed. Also, they appoint a new team Captain and Co-captain.
- Kato Minami appointed her as a new Captain of Team NIII (Kato Team NIII)
- Ogino Yuka appointed her as a Co-captain of the team
- Appointed Team G Captain and Vice-Captain will announce on the upcoming 1st Stage
- On April 18, Kitahara Rie graduated from the group as Team NIII member
- On May 22, Miyajima Aya announced her graduation
- On June 12, the group announced their 2nd Generation Kenkyuusei, formed 16 new members.
- On June 30, the group revived the Team NIII 3rd Stage as Kato Team NIII
- On July 1, the group started their Team G 1st Stage. It is a revival from AKB48's Team K 5th Stage. Also, they appointed a new Captain and Vice-Captain for Team G

- Yamaguchi Maho appointed her as a team Co-Captain
- On July 25, Takahashi Mau announced her graduation
- On August 6, Miyajima Aya graduated from the group as Team NIII member
- On August 29, the group released their 4th Single full MV Sekai no Hito e on their official YouTube Channel. This is their first MV to be shot in Vladivostok City, Russia.
- On September 15, the group released their 4th Single Music Edition Video of Sekai no Hito e on their official YouTube Channel.
- On October 3, the group released their full 4th Single in physical versions. The online streaming version was released as Special Edition of the single.
- This is also the last single to release under the label of Sony Music Entertainment Japan.
- On October 5, Takahashi Mau graduated from the group as Team NIII member
- On December 24, the group had started the Kenkyuusei 4th Stage, titled as PARTY ga Hajimaru yo・Kenkyuusei no Ibuki wo Kanjite!. This is the final continuation of a modified revival stage from Kenkyuusei 3rd Stage
- On December 28, the group released the digital remix version of Sekai no Hito e on their digital streaming platforms.
- Few days before the replacement of the manager, one of the fans made a petition to replace Imamura Etsuro as a theater manager of the group.
- On March 10, Hagiri Runa resigned from the group as 2nd Generation Kenkyuusei. She is the first 2nd Generation Members to leave the group.
- On April 17, Kashiwagi Yuki announced her resignation/cancellation of her Kennin Position with the group
- On April 21, the group ended their Team NIII 3rd Stage and Team G 1st Stage, along with the dissolution of the two teams as part of the reconstructure of the group.
- All promoted members from Team NIII and Team G will fuse into 1st Generation Team
- Kado Yuria appointed her as a new Captain of the group (Predecessor: Kitahara Rie)
- Kashiwagi Yuki, on the other hand, cancelled her Kennin Position with the group as Team NIII member and returned full time as AKB48 Team B member
- Kato Minami and Homma Hinata were no longer to be the Captain of respective teams, as well as Ogino Yuka and Yamaguchi Maho removed their roles as being the Co-Captain
- Sugahara Riko, Hasegawa Rena and Yamaguchi Maho announced their graduations.
- On May 19, Sugahara Riko, Hasegawa Rena and Yamaguchi Maho were graduated from the group as 1st Generation members
- Meanwhile, Kato Minami was demoted to Kenkyuusei by the management due to her Instagram post about Yamaguchi Maho's graduation.
- On June 4, Yamazaki Mirii announced her graduation
- On July 15, Murakumo Fuka announced her graduation
- On August 18, the group had started their 1st Stage, titled as Yume wo Shinaseru Wake ni Ikanai (夢を死なせるわけにいかない). It is a revival stage from AKB48's Himawarigumi 2nd Stage.
- This is the group's first stage for promoted/regular members after the dissolution of two teams. Also, the remaining 1st Generation members would be the first one to perform in Shonichi stage.
- August 25, Sato Anju announced her graduation
- On March 23, Takakura Moeka graduated from the group as 1st Generation member
- On March 31, Hayakawa Maiko resigned as the group's theater manager
- On the other hand, Takahashi Nanami graduated from the group as 3rd Draftee Kenkyuusei
- On June 11, the group announced their upcoming 5th Single release, titled as Sherbet Pink (シャーベットピンク). All members will participate on the given single's title track. And, for the first time, Fujisaki Miyu selected her to Center this song.

- On July 20, 21 months and 19 days passed after the previous single released in 2018, the group released their full 5th Single in physical and online streaming platforms.
- This is the first single to release under the label of EMI RECORDS, a sub-label of Universal Music

- On August 21, Tano Ayaka announced her graduation
- On October 31, Tano Ayaka graduated from the group as 1st Generation member
- On December 25, the group announced the promotion of all Kenkyuusei members
- Kato Minami, who just demoted to Kenkyuusei due to her Instagram post about Yamaguchi Maho's graduation in 2019, was promoted once again into a regular members of 1st Generation. Shortly after her promotion, she announced her graduation

- On October 31, Yamada Noe announced her graduation
